The Learning School - Sharing learning around the world
The Learning School is based in a school in the Shetland Islands. Each year it sends its students around the world to investigate how learning takes place in schools around the world.
This is their latest publication and it focuses on Student Leadership. It contains loads of really interesting information about how students are able to research well in different environments.
Pages 11-13 provide a detailed look at some of the research methods students used when carrying out their projects including focus groups, class observations and surveys.
From page 16 there are 4 case studies/projects looking at what makes effective student leadership in schools around the world: A Comfortable Learning Environment, Leading and Learning in the Classroom, Assessment and What Promotes a Community in a School?
Page 35 concludes the research and brings together what has been learnt from the different case studies.
